Mixed Media > A History of Painting

This project explores the complex relationship between painting and photography. The connection with each painting and photography is connected though the time period the painting was made, the movement it is associated with, the artist, or the painting itself. This connection is stated in very small text which can only be read with the aid of a magnifying glass. The association state in the text is further explore through digital manipulation of each image. While this project overtly explores the connection between painting and photography it also explore the relationship between these two mediums and the more recent media, digital imaging.

The images and text for this project come from various textbooks and exhibition catalogs. A footnote for the inserted text is included in each image.
