Textbook Typology is a group of textbook pages all containing the same artwork, for example, the Mona Lisa or a Colossal Olmec Head. These photographs inform the way the viewer understands these work of art. Many times people have not seen these pieces in person and know them only from the reproduction. Seeing these differences in scale, color and how it is categorized by the author reveals the many ways an artwork can be interpreted from a reproduction.
